Lou Castelli is Managing Partner of PennSpring Capital, where he leads all aspects of the firm’s investment strategy and serves as Chairman of each portfolio company, driving revenue acceleration, organizational improvement and margin expansion.
Prior to founding PennSpring, Lou owned and operated Skyhawks Sports Academy, which he scaled into the largest youth sports camp franchisor in the U.S. and successfully exited to Genstar Capital. Earlier, he was Managing Director at Headwaters MB, a leading middle-market investment bank, where he advised founders and family-owned companies on buy- and sell-side M&A transactions. Lou began his career as a Technology Investment Banker at Prudential Securities, honing his expertise in capital markets and strategic advisory.
He earned a BS in Finance from Seton Hall University’s Stillman School of Business and an MBA from Cornell University’s S.C. Johnson School of Business, where he was named a Fellow of the Cornell Entrepreneurship and Innovation Institute.
Lou is also the former President of the Board of Trustees at Lancaster Country Day School and currently serves as Trustee Emeritus. He and his wife live in Lancaster, PA with their four children.
